Seán Canney Minister of State at the Department of Transport Independent

My Department received approximately 4,400 applications for support under the Road Transporters Support Scheme, in respect of approximately 31,500 vehicles. As of 4 September 2026, approximately 3,400 applications have been assessed and approved for payment.

The outstanding applications, including the one referred to by the Deputy, have faced delays as they have been identified as containing errors. The applicant concerned was contacted by officials in my Department and this application is being progressed in tandem with other applications that encountered similar difficulties. I expect that payments in respect of these applications will be made in the coming days.
