The Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of An Garda Síochána under section 33 of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024, which includes the distribution and stationing of Gardaí.

An Garda Síochána publishes information in relation to the allocation of Gardaí nationally. This includes a breakdown of the number of Gardaí by rank assigned to each Garda Division and Station as at 31 August 2026, the latest date for when figures are available.

The information for 2026 can be found at the following link:

The Deputy should select the statistics for 2026, August 2026, and then select the file titled ‘Garda Members by Division District Station" to access a breakdown of Garda members assigned to the Laois/Offaly division and Garda Stations in County Laois.

Information for 2023 to 2025 can be found at the following link:

The Deputy should select the file titled ‘Garda Members by Division District Station 2009 to 31 December 2025" to access a breakdown of Garda members assigned to the Laois/Offaly Division and Garda Stations in County Laois for 2023 to 2025.
