The Sport Ireland Campus Masterplan provides an ambitious blueprint setting out a vision and framework for the growth of the Sport Ireland Campus over the next 15 to 20 years. Significant progress has been made in recent years, with the National Velodrome and Badminton Centre (NVBC) and the National Cricket Centre (NCC) now under construction since earlier this year. Both projects are progressing well and it is anticipated that they will be delivered on time and within budget.

The NVBC project will deliver a 250-metre cycling track, 12 badminton courts, seating for 1,000 spectators and ancillary facilities.

Phase 1 of the National Cricket Centre will deliver the main field of play, 4,240 spectator seats, a high-performance centre and a player and match officials' building. This is being managed in two distinct construction contracts to ensure that the playing surface will be adequately prepared in time for the 2030 T20 World Cup tournament, which Ireland will co-host.

Other projects being planned at the Campus under the Masterplan include the expansion of the Sport Ireland Institute and the redevelopment of Abbotstown House and Gardens. Future potential projects of benefit to national governing bodies of sport are also under consideration.

I understand that Sport Ireland welcomes the proposed redevelopment of the Dunsink area and is engaging with Fingal County Council in the context of the Dunsink Urban Area Plan consultation process in respect of the Sport Ireland Campus. This is with a view to optimising synergies, maximising public infrastructure investment opportunities, and benefitting the new Dunsink and wider Blanchardstown neighbourhood, and beyond.

I look forward to the outcome of this process.
