Disability Services

Summary

The Minister referred Deputy Tóibín’s questions about the HSE’s decision not to publish a disability-services report to the HSE for a direct response.

207. Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Health the reason the HSE has decided not to publish a report (details supplied), despite its relevance to planning and delivering disability services nationally; the specific limitations in the underlying data and analysis that the HSE considers sufficient to justify non-publication; whether the HSE will publish the report alongside the relevant caveats and limitations, to allow public scrutiny of the findings; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
