Hildegarde Naughton Minister for Education and Youth Fine Gael

I can confirm to the Deputy that my department has received correspondence from a number of schools in recent months indicating that they would like to consider transitioning to the status of a Gaelscoil. A meeting took place in September between officials of my department and representatives from a number of these schools. As correspondence from the school to which the Deputy refers had not been received at that time, they did not attend this meeting. However, it is intended that further meetings with schools interested in making this transition will be held and officials in my department will be in contact with the school in question in order to invite them to attend such a meeting.
