The Office of Public Works (OPW) can confirm that there are refurbishment and maintenance works planned for Santry Garda Station, to commence in 2026/2027.
In 2025, works to remove asbestos containing materials from the back stairs of the station took place. As a result of the asbestos removal, works repairs and redecoration works were scheduled for the stairs, ground floor and first floor corridors. Maintenance works planned for the remainder of 2026 involve the removal of asbestos containing materials in the Tusla/Child Protection Unit office on the first floor.
OPW have issued a tender for works in this location, and following successful completion of the tender process, work on full asbestos removal, disposal, testing and certification can commence on site.
Works scheduled for 2027 in Santry Garda Station include:
• Renovation and improvement works on the premises and facilities of the Garda Water Unit based in Santry Garda Station.
The commencement/completion dates for the planned works are subject to the final sign off of operational and design requirements by An Garda Síochána.
