Psychological Assessments

Summary

The Minister referred a query about delays in Mayo child psychology and assessment services to the HSE for a direct response.

397. Deputy Paul Lawless asked the Minister for Children, Disability and Equality if she is aware of the case of a child in County Mayo (details supplied) who has been waiting in excess of three years for clinical psychology services and over one year since an assessment of need application was submitted; the reason the child's assessment of need has not yet been completed; the reason a maternity-leave clinical psychology vacancy in the Mayo area has not been filled; the measures being taken to address severe staffing shortages in children's disability network teams in County Mayo; and when this child can expect to receive an assessment of need. As this question refers to service matters, I have asked the Health Service Executive (HSE) to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
