Health Services Staff

Summary

The Minister referred questions about payroll approval delays affecting newly qualified nurses, impacted numbers, timelines and supports to the HSE for a direct response.

454. Deputy Rose Conway-Walsh asked the Minister for Health the reason additional payroll approval requirements are preventing newly qualified nurses from commencing employment within the HSE; the steps that are being taken to expedite these approvals; the anticipated timeframe for resolving these delays; the total number of nursing appointments currently impacted, nationally and at MUH specifically; and the supports that are being offered to impacted nurses who are being blocked from starting their new jobs. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
