Care Services

Summary

The Minister referred a query about reimbursing carers’ travel to and from their first and last client calls to the HSE for response.

424. Deputy Ken O'Flynn asked the Minister for Health whether travel by a home support carer from home to the first client call of the day, and from the last call back home, is treated as reimbursable travel under the conditions attached to HSE funded home support contracts with private and voluntary providers; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
