Care Services

Summary

The Minister referred questions about home-support carers’ mileage rates and travel-cost funding amid 2026 fuel increases to the HSE for a direct response.

427. Deputy Ken O'Flynn asked the Minister for Health whether the HSE has reviewed the adequacy of mileage rates paid to home support carers by contracted providers in light of fuel price increases in 2026; whether the hourly rate paid to providers includes a specific component for carer travel costs and, if so, the amount of that component per hour; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
