Summary
Senators call for stronger Government action on mortgage arrears and banking, disputing whether responsibility lies with banks or the State.
I support my colleague, Senator MacSharry, in his call for action by the Government on the banking issue. All we have seen so far is inactivity portrayed as action. The sight of the Governor of the Central Bank calling on the Government to do something tells us that even he is frustrated by the lack of action two years on.
