I wish to clarify the Leader's proposal-----

Comment on this

I am proposing an amendment to the Order of Business that between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. the House deal with the matter to which Senator Marie Moloney referred, namely, the mobility allowance, and that anyone who wishes to contribute to the debate and assist in the preparation of a submission to be given to the working group should do so.

If our deliberations on the Finance Bill conclude before 6 p.m., will a sos be taken or will we proceed directly to the matter in question?

Comment on this

Perhaps we will amend the amendment to state the debate will commence when our deliberations on the Finance Bill have been completed.

Will a Minister be present?

Comment on this

Anyone who wishes to contribute to the debate and the framing of a submission is more than welcome to do so. There will not be a Minister present.

Will the Leader clarify the amount of time that will be allocated to each speaker in the debate?

Comment on this

There will be five minutes per Senator.

The Leader has proposed an amendment to the Order of Business, "That when the House completes its deliberations on the Finance Bill, it will debate the issue of the mobility allowance and prepare a submission for the relevant working group." Is the amendment agreed to? Agreed.
