Summary
The Cathaoirleach explains that late notice and scheduling prevented his participation in RTÉ’s Oireachtas programme, although footage of the Seanad at work was promised.
On the issue raised by Senator Paschal Mooney in connection with the RTE programme, an invitation was issued to RTE by the Ceann Comhairle. I received notice late on a Thursday evening that it was happening on a Monday. I was not available on the Monday and it could not happen any other day. However, I was given a guarantee that footage of the House in action would be shown.
