Wind energy policy

Summary

Senator Keane argues that wind energy should receive support only after publication of a full technical and economic assessment, while others exchange brief interruptions about its costs and environmental benefits.

The Senator does not have time to read it.

The quote is only two sentences but it is important. He stated:

The Government commissioned a report on these issues last year, but it has not yet been published. There should be no further government support for wind generation until a full technical and economic analysis of costs and subsidies is available.

I am all for wind.

Comment on this

I want it to be cost effective. The report should be published because we are paying 41% more for our energy than any other country in Europe. Our environment needs wind energy to get rid of coal, gas and oil.
