Senator Marc MacSharry raised the question of the appointment of the expert group to oversee the quality of route options for the EirGrid transmission project. This has been welcomed and I note the comments about the north east. I have sought clarity on the matter but have not received any word on it as of yet. Senator Rónán Mullen said we would have nothing to learn from the expert group before it had even met. I know he is in campaign mode.

If the Leader was in listening mode, he would know what the people want on the pylons issue.
