Rising postcode project costs
Senator Barrett highlights the increase in projected postcode costs from €15 million to €24 million, and the Deputy Leader offers to arrange a debate with the Communications Minister.
Earlier I raised the issue of postcodes and asked the Deputy Leader to take it up. Let me comment on the escalation of costs in nine months from €15 million to €24 million.

On the day that is in it, that is an appropriate comment by the Senator. I meant to respond to him on the issue of postcodes. We might be able to get the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources to attend for a specific debate on the matter. I am sure he would be delighted to have an opportunity to debate the new plan for postcodes and it would be a good debate.
