Senator Leyden objects to proceeding without the responsible Minister and seeks clarification about Senator John Kelly’s position and alleged remarks.
I would prefer not to take the question at all if the Minister of State is not prepared to come to the House. She had plenty of notice but she was not here. She is running away from the issue. She has not confirmed what Senator John Kelly supposedly said to her.

Did he threaten to resign from the Labour Party? What is his position now in light of the reply from the Minister of State, Deputy Humphreys? I would be interested to know.
