Delayed motor neurone disease diagnosis

Summary

Senator Craughwell asks the Leader to help a constituent obtain medical follow-up after suspected motor neurone disease, seeking urgent contact from a doctor.

Two minutes, please, a Chathaoirligh. He was told he needed further tests to determine what form he had. We all know the sentence that is motor neurone disease. Nobody in the health service will pick up the telephone and tell him when he can have the appointment.

That could be the subject of a Commencement debate if the Senator wishes to put it forward.

I appreciate that, but I will give the name of this man to the Leader and perhaps he might ask the Minister for Health to get some doctor to pick up the telephone and alleviate his pain. Have we lost all humanity? Do we not understand people's suffering?
