Order of Business
The Leader sets out the day’s scheduled business, while the Cathaoirleach welcomes former MLA Esmond Birnie to the Visitors Gallery.
The Order of Business is No. 1, Public Transport Bill 2015 - all Stages, to be taken at 2.30 p.m. and brought to a conclusion not later than 4 p.m. by one question which shall be put from the Chair; No. 81, Private Members' business, non-Government motion No. 18 re direct provision system, to be taken at 4 p.m., with the time allocated for the debate not to exceed two hours; No. 2, Horse Racing Ireland Bill 2015 - all Stages, with Second Stage to be taken at 6 p.m., the time allocated for group spokespersons not to exceed eight minutes, the contributions of all other Senators not to exceed five minutes, the Minister to be given five minutes to reply and Committee and Remaining Stages to be taken immediately thereafter.
Immediately following the Order of Business there will be tributes to the late former Senator Brian Friel. I propose that the tributes last a maximum of one hour and that the contribution of each Senator not exceed fives minutes.
