A long, heated exchange followed as Senators traded accusations over Sinn Féin's politics, government formation, and the confidence-and-supply arrangement. The Chair repeatedly intervened while the arguments continued over who could credibly claim to support stability and responsibility.

God help us if we ever see Sinn Féin getting a leg into government. It will bring down the whole shooting gallery in one day.
