National children's hospital overrun
A long, heated exchange followed on the hospital's planning history, site choice, costs and accountability. Burke argued the wrong site and political decisions caused delay, while Clifford-Lee and others attacked the lack of oversight; the Chair repeatedly ordered Members to stop interrupting.

The Senator has had her say. She should be silent and allow the speaker in possession to conclude.

The second issue is that the planning permission refusal happened in February 2012.
Comment on this
Planning permission was refused in February 2012. Planning permission for the new hospital was granted in April 2016. In that period, the plans were drawn up and the bill of quantities was sent to the builders to enable them to quote. However, the minute detail was not set out because it would have taken 12 months to facilitate this.
I wish to give Senators an idea of the scale of the hospital. There will be 6,151 rooms.

The hospital will be the length of Grafton Street.

Never mind what he is saying. I did not interrupt Senator Clifford-Lee and do not want her to interrupt Senator Colm Burke.

I do not want Senators to interrupt one another. I want respect for the Chair. There is a speaker in possession.
