Radio Kerry ownership row

Summary

After a clarification, Senators Leyden and Buttimer continued sparring over claims about Radio Kerry buying other stations and local radio consolidation. The Leader eventually said the matter was one for the stations and the Broadcasting Authority.

I accept the clarification. I was not informed of that this morning. That said, I am sure Radio Kerry is after the Limerick station as well.

Do not let facts get in the way of the truth.

Comment on this

Facts do not prevent Senator Buttimer from doing the same thing.

Comment on this

Senator Leyden is the master in that regard. I only deal in facts.

We cannot have a debate about it now.

If it is Tipperary, I say "Up Tipperary". Radio Kerry is after the Limerick and Sligo radio stations and every other bloody radio station in the country.

Comment on this

Senator Leyden cannot say that.

Senator Leyden is talking through his hat but he is out of order anyway.

The kingdom of Kerry and the kingdom of radio.

Comment on this

Senator Leyden is being unfair.

He knows very well he is being unfair.

Comment on this

He should not try to grab a headline from this. Radio Kerry has a tremendous record of being rooted in the community in its presentations-----

Comment on this

Ruthless would be more like it.

Comment on this

The Senator's comments are unfair. I live within the catchment area of Radio Kerry and I can pick up its broadcasts. It is a very fine radio station-----

-----as are 96FM, C103 and RedFM in Cork.
