LGBTI+ strategy and philanthropy
After a few light exchanges about Denis Kelleher, the Deputy Leader praised the positive initiative behind the LGBTI+ strategy and then spoke more generally about Irish people abroad who give back through philanthropy.
I just thought it was a lovely story.

It is very common that Irish people who go abroad and do well give back to Ireland. We are very lucky when it comes to that inward investment. On that level, it is very important. People who partake in that type of philanthropic activity deserve to have their efforts highlighted, though oftentimes they do not wish for that at all.

They are not doing it for praise, recognition or thanks. They do it because they feel they can give back. I thank the Senator for highlighting that.
