Seanad

Death of Former Member: Motion

Summary

Seanad Éireann mourned former Senator Enda Bonner, expressed condolences to his family, and acknowledged his contribution to Irish public life and service to Ireland.

Mark Daly An Cathaoirleach Fianna Fáil

Regarding Standing Order 153(1), before the Order of Business I announced the death of a former Member of this House, Enda Bonner. Members stood for a minute's silence. One of the Standing Orders of this House ensures that all former Members are remembered by the House. I ask the Leader to read out the motion that will be sent to the family this week.

I move:

That Seanad Éireann:

- expresses its deep sadness on the death of Enda Bonner;

- conveys its sincere condolences to his family; and

- expresses its gratitude for his notable contribution, as a member of Seanad Éireann, to Irish public life and for his dedicated service to the people of Ireland.
