Tribute to Enda Bonner
Senator Blaney asks for time to honour former Senator Enda Bonner with his family present, and the Chair indicates that such a tribute will be arranged.
I begin by passing my condolences to Senator Craughwell on the passing of his wife. I apologise I missed the funeral over the summer. I was not around.
I concur with the expressions from the Chair in relation to my former colleague Enda Bonner, who was a former Member of the House. Rather than trying to address all that Enda was in the small amount of time left for me, I ask that time be allocated on our agenda at a stage when we can invite his family here to hear the expressions of sympathy, as has been afforded to other Members in the past. I propose that to the House.
My colleague, Senator Manus Boyle, mentioned the sad passing in west Donegal, which is his neck of the woods, of James and Noreen McHugh. I attended the wake also and met Manus there that day. Such a sad scene I have never witnessed at a funeral or a wake, where two coffins were side by side. I send my condolences for the loss to all the people in west Donegal and all the GAA family in Donegal on the passing of Enda and James.

I am sure the Leader will provide time in the Order of Business in the coming weeks, in conjunction with the families and Members from Donegal, to ensure we have expressions of sympathy for the former Senator to give people more time to put on the record his great service to this House, to Donegal and to Ireland.
