Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad
Four Senators raised selected matters on Donegal flood protection, Wexford roads funding, school dates, and Dublin youth services; Charleville’s road issue was deferred.
I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters on the commencement of the Seanad:
Senator Manus Boyle - The need for the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation to make a statement on the minor flood mitigation works and coastal protection scheme, in particular the protection works in Inver, County Donegal and flood protection measures in Killybegs, County Donegal.
Senator Cathal Byrne - The need for the Minister for Transport to provide an update on the payment of "catch-up" roads funding due in County Wexford.
Senator Margaret Murphy O'Mahony - The need for the Minister for Education and Youth to make a statement on a return to the traditional back to school dates in September due to the impact that the earlier return is having on the tourism sector.
Senator Evanne Ní Chuilinn - The need for the Minister for Education and Youth to make a statement on youth service funding parameters and their application in Dublin's south-west inner city.
Senator Eileen Lynch - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on funding for the Charleville ring road-relief road and interim road safety and traffic management measures at Charleville, County Cork.
The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected Senators Manus Boyle, Cathal Byrne, Margaret Murphy O'Mahony and Evanne Ní Chuilinn, and they will be taken now.
Senator Eileen Lynch may give notice on another day of the matter that she wishes to raise.
