Business of Select Committee
Unfortunately, we will not be able to meet next Tuesday as several members, especially those from the country, have indicated they will not be here. There are also some issues with regard to staffing arrangements on Tuesday morning. I suggest that we continue the week after next, arranging to meet on the Wednesday morning. We must seek a committee room, but we may agree provisionally to meet at 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday week.

We want this Bill to be passed, but it must still go through the Seanad. We have four or five weeks to get it through. Does the Minister see a problem in this regard?

Not from my point of view. I will try to clear the decks. I acknowledge that next week is difficult for everybody. We are talking about 16 June.

We on the Opposition side are available next week. However, I acknowledge the week that is in it.

I could make myself available on the Tuesday by moving things around, but I would be more constrained on the Wednesday and Thursday. I would definitely not be able to attend on the Friday.

No; I am talking about next week. I want to finish the deliberations on the Bill——

If the Chairman is saying 16 June, I can attend for the full day apart from Question Time, as I am scheduled to take Priority Questions.

That is an awful situation — to have Priority Questions as well as dealing with this Bill.

I do not mind. We do need to get it finished. It is a priority.

If it takes place on Wednesday, we may have to leave for half an hour for the Order of Business. Is that all right?

Other than that we can go right through.
