Victims of Sexual Violence Civil Protection Orders Bill 2025
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
Seeks to give victims of sexual violence a clear legal route to ask the courts for civil protection orders after a conviction is made for offences such as rape and related sexual offences. It would let judges issue these orders for complainants in cases where the court has found one of the listed offences proved, aiming to give survivors extra protection after the criminal case. This matters because it adds another safeguard for people at risk after sexual violence and recognises their ongoing safety needs.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide victims of sexual violence with the right to seek civil protection orders.
