Tugtar fé ndeara, i dtaobh an Airgid i gCéin atá luaidthe thuas gur sa gcéad áit atá an Farisbarr do bhí ann ar an 30adh lá d'Aibreán, 1921, agus sa dara áit an méid do caitheadh ón lá soin. Maidir leis na tuairiscí do cuireadh os bhúr gcomhair le déanaí, cuimhneoidh sibh gur cuireadh síos ar chunntas an airgid seo, suas go dtí an lá san. Tuigtear gur farisbarr dréir meastacháin an méid atá i gCéin, toisc gan críoch do chur ar na cunntaisí thall go fóill. Bfhéidir go gcaithfear níos mó ná tá luaidhte, ach ar an dtaobh eile is dóichighe go mbeidh níos mó ná san de thuilleamh ag teacht isteach.

Mar is eol do Theachtaí na Dála, beidh ceisteanna le plé go bhfuil baint aca leis an airgead in Éirinn, agus tá na miontuairiscí ina dtaobh san le fagháil ar phaipéirí fé leith.

Táim-se sásta le staid an Airgid. Tá roinnt mhaith d'ór i dtaisce againn. Do tugadh cead duinn Iasachtaí Nua do chur fé sheóla sa bhaile agus i gcéin, agus táthar ag ullamhú ina gcóir.

I rith na tréimhse go bhfuil trácht uirthi anois, do dineadh gnó na hAireachta so go maith, agus cé go raibh an namhaid ar thóir ár geiste níor fhéad sé breith suas leis.

Bítear ag mionscrúdú cunntaisí na nAireacht go léir i gcomhnuí, agus tá ag eirghe leis an obair seo.

Statement of the position as at close of business on 30th June, 1921.

RECEIPTS.

It is to be noted that in the Foreign amounts, set out above, the figures represent on the Receipts side the balance as at the 30th April last, and on the other side, the expenditure as from the same date. It will be remembered that the Statement submitted recently brought the Foreign accounts up to that date. It is to be observed that the balance held abroad is only an estimate, as all the accounts from the Foreign centres are not yet completed. The expenditure may exceed the amount given here, but on the other hand there will be revenue which will probably more than counterbalance it.

As is known to Dáil Members, there are proposals pending connected with the general aspect of Finances in Ireland. These proposals are contained in detail in Supplementary Papers.

The position of our funds I regard as satisfactory. There is a sufficient Gold Reserve. The raising of new Loans at home and abroad has been sanctioned, and the details are being attended to.

The Department has operated throughout the period under review in a satisfactory manner. The arrangements made to meet the enemy attack on our funds have so far frustrated his designs.

A complete audit of all Departmental Receipts and Expenditure is maintained at all times, and works well.
