Data from the industrial analysis of the live register for May, 1976, are not yet available. However, the corresponding figures for April are as follows:—

The number of persons in the building, contracting and works of construction industry who were on the live register on 18th April, 1975, and on 15th April, 1976, were 19,857 and 24,907 respectively. This represents an actual increase of 5,050 or 25.4 per cent.
