Legislation for Ministers of State
The Minister said legislation for appointing Ministers who are not members of the Government would be introduced within weeks; legislation establishing the new Department of Economic Planning and Development had already been circulated.
asked the Minister for the Public Service if, in view of recent press reports, he will indicate the reforms he proposes to make with regard to Ministerial offices and, in particular, the proposals he has with regard to the establishment of Ministers of State; and when the necessary legislation will be brought before the Dáil.
