asked the Minister for Education why adequate statistics are not maintained by his Department in respect of participation in adult education courses and the demand for such courses; if it is intended to establish a special adult education section in his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am satisfied that the statistics available in relation to participation in adult education and the administration arrangements at present operative are both adequate.
