Women Working at Night
Mitchell asked whether the prohibition on women working at night in industry would be amended. Fitzgerald said the Employment Equality Agency had reviewed the legislation and international commitments, and consultations were underway before a recommendation to the Minister.

At my request the Employment Equality Agency has reviewed the legislation and the international commitment which prohibit women from working at night in industry.
My Department is at present engaged in consultations with the many interests involved preparatory to the submission of a recommendation to me as to action to be taken.
