asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will clarify reports that he has agreed to a proposal that foreign fishermen or fishermen from EEC Member States trespassing or fishing illegally in our waters will not be prosecuted in Irish courts.

All instances of illegal fishing in Irish waters under the newly-agreed Common Fisheries Policy will be prosecuted in Irish courts.
