Prosecution of Illegal Fishing

Summary

The Minister clarified that all illegal fishing in Irish waters under the new Common Fisheries Policy will be prosecuted in Irish courts.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will clarify reports that he has agreed to a proposal that foreign fishermen or fishermen from EEC Member States trespassing or fishing illegally in our waters will not be prosecuted in Irish courts.
