asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will outline the measures he proposes to take to safeguard the livelihood of Irish fishermen following the failure to implement the EEC common fisheries policy on 1 January 1983; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As a common fisheries policy has now been agreed the need for measures as suggested by the Deputy does not arise.
