Safeguarding Irish fishermen under fisheries policy

Summary

Molloy asked what measures would protect Irish fishermen after the Common Fisheries Policy was not implemented on schedule; O'Toole said an agreement had since been reached, so no such measures were needed.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he will outline the measures he proposes to take to safeguard the livelihood of Irish fishermen following the failure to implement the EEC common fisheries policy on 1 January 1983; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Comment on this

As a common fisheries policy has now been agreed the need for measures as suggested by the Deputy does not arise.
