Browne asked whether centres with bar facilities were excluded from grants; Kenny said he knew of no such policy and applications were assessed on their merits.
There seems to be a reluctance on the part of the Department to give grants to community centres with bar facilities. I know of an application for a grant which was sent to the Department, but although the facility was separate from the bar the application was turned down. Is that departmental policy?
