The supervision and management of waste disposal operations in each area is the responsibility of the county council or county borough corporation concerned and decisions on disposal methods are a matter for these authorities. While my Department have issued guidelines to local authorities on selection and design aspects of disposal sites, they are not directly involved in the monitoring and control of waste disposal generally.

Will he make representations to his political colleagues on Dublin County Council to take a responsible attitude in regard to the disposal of non-toxic and non-hazardous industrial waste?
