den Taoiseach cén uair atá sé are intinn aige cathaoirleach a cheapadh agus folúntais eile a líonadh ar Bhord na Gaeilge.

Mar is eol don Taoiseach, tá Bord na Gaeilge fágtha gan aon chathaoirleach le naoi mí ar a laghad, agus tá folúntais eile le líonadh chomh maith. Nach n-aontódh an Taoiseach go laghdaíonn sé seo stádas agus éifeacht an bhoird, a bheith fágtha chomh fada sin gan cathaoirleach? Nuair a chuimhnímhnímid nach bhfuil sé ach cúpla lá nuair a bhí Údarás na Gaeltachta fágtha gan cathaoirleach, an bhféadfadh sé tuairim níos cruinne a thabhairt dúinn cén uair a cheapfar an cathaoirleach? An bhfuil aon phleananna ag an Taoiseach é féin, mar Aire na Gaeltachta, bualadh le Bord na Gaeilge agus an cheist a phlé leo?

Bhí rudaí eile ar mo intinn le mí, ach féachfaidh mé isteach sa scéal chomh luath agus is féidir.

Os rud é nár leag an Taoiseach fiú amháin a chos taobh istigh de tháirseach Roinn na Gaeltachta le linn a réime deireannaí mar Aire na Gaeltachta, cathain atá sé ar aigne aige a chéad chuairt a thabhairt don Roinn um an dtaca seo? An bhfuil sé ag súil leis?

I will translate for the Minister. When does the Taoiseach propose making his first visit to the Department of the Gaeltacht in view of the fact that he did not visit them during his last term?

If the Deputy wishes to revert to the vernacular, I will do so also. What I said was that when necessary the Department came to see me and that that was satisfactory from both our points of view. The Deputy would agree that it is probably more important to visit the Gaeltacht itself, rather than the Department of the Gaeltacht, and that I do regularly.
