Review of Private Rented Sector

Summary

Higgins asked about the review’s terms, completion date and planned regulations, including rent books; Flynn said there were no formal terms of reference and no completion date was available.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the terms of reference which he has given to the group in his Department who are carrying out a general review of the private rented sector; when their work will be completed; when he intends to introduce regulations, including those concerning rent books; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Comment on this

The review of the private rented sector is being carried out by my Department. The question of setting formal terms of reference for a group does not arise. I am not in a position to say when the review might be completed.
