Mayoral titles for municipal districts

Summary

Michael Healy-Rae asks whether municipal district chairpersons can retain the title of mayor; the Ceann Comhairle directs him to raise the matter during the local government Bill’s debate.

There is no provision in the local government Bill for the retention of the title of mayors of towns. Could an amendment be made to the Bill to allow the chairpersons of municipal districts have the title of mayor?
