Complaint about impugning remarks
Deputies Flanagan, O’Donovan and Durkan seek immediate action over remarks said to undermine a Member’s reputation and the Chair’s authority. The Chair says the matter has already been referred to the Committee on Procedure and Privileges and refuses to deal with it immediately.
Before agreeing to the Order of Business, it is entirely appropriate that we would refer to the matter referred to earlier. I thank you, a Cheann Comhairle, for replying to my correspondence in this matter. You have quite rightly referred the matter for consideration to the Committee on Procedure and Privileges. Can a meeting be convened for today?

I will need to suspend the House again if the Deputy does not sit down. I am not putting up with this.
