Planning regulator legislation

Summary

Deputy Phelan asks about legislation establishing a planning regulator following the Mahon report; Minister Burton says a planning Bill will partly implement the recommendations but gives no date.

The Mahon report recommended the establishment of a planning regulator to be charged with carrying out investigations into the planning process where required. This office was approved by Cabinet last year. When will the legislation be published?

Comment on this

There is a planning Bill proposed, which will deal partly with the implementation of the recommendations from the Mahon report. I do not have a date for that.
