The estimated gross cost to the exchequer of a 1% increase in the public service pay agreement is approximately €437 million, which includes pay and pension impacts as well as other funding implications for the Exchequer.

The exact cost of the pay bill net of taxes cannot be accurately estimated as the impact of taxation varies depending on each employee’s individual tax, PRSI, and USC treatment.
