Health Screening Programmes

Summary

The Minister referred questions about cervical screening samples being tested abroad, including whether this reflects capacity constraints, to the HSE.

3729. Deputy Jen Cummins asked the Minister for Health the reason for the increase in cervical screening samples, taken in both community and colposcopy settings across the country, are being taken to laboratories outside Ireland for testing (details supplied); to confirm if this is due to a capacity issue; and, if not, the reason for samples being sent abroad.
