Deputy Aidan Farrelly asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation the amount that the OPW collected in revenue for allowing the Iveagh Gardens to be used as a summer concert venue in 2025 and 2026; when those rates for allowing this location as concert venue were last reviewed; and the civil service grade within the OPW that has the authority to decide to increase or decrease venue rental fees. The OPW collected the following amounts for the use of Iveagh Gardens for the Summer Concert series.
Rates for the use of Iveagh Gardens were last reviewed in 2022. Upon that review, the OPW made the decision to increase event fees in line with rising inflation.
Assistant Secretary Grade in the Civil Service has the authority to decide to increase or decrease venue rental fees.
