Ireland’s Presidency programme includes approximately 270 meetings taking place in Ireland from 1 July onwards. These events are taking place across the country to support the delivery of Ireland's Presidency policy priorities. They are also an important opportunity to showcase Ireland to around 30,000 delegates from all over Europe who will travel to meetings in Ireland over the course of the six-month period. We want to be good hosts, to extend a warm welcome to Ireland's partners across the European Union.
Presidency planning is led by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Security around Dublin Castle is a matter for An Garda Síochána in conjunction with DFAT and the OPW.
While no specific compensation for businesses affected by these security measures is under consideration, the Government already provides a substantial range of supports to small businesses. I would encourage the impacted businesses to contact the National Enterprise Hub (NEH). The trained advisors can help direct businesses to relevant existing supports.
