Patrick O'Donovan Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport Fine Gael

As Minister, my primary relationship with all aegis bodies including TG4 is with the Chair of each Board. When I was appointed as Minister in this Department, one of my first priorities was to meet with the Chair of each body under the aegis of the Department including the Cathaoirleach of TG4.

My officials regularly engage with the senior management team in TG4, including the Ard-Stiúrthóir, regarding policy, governance and financial matters, and will continue to do so.

I intend to meet with the Cathaoirleach during the autumn to discuss how TG4 is implementing its strategy and to get her perspective on the key challenges facing the broadcaster given the increasingly complex media ecosystem in which it operates.
