Joint Committee on Health

Business of Joint Committee

Summary

The committee handled apologies and substitutions, reaffirmed the constitutional rule that members must be physically present in Leinster House to participate, and agreed the minutes of 23 and 24 June.

Good morning, everybody. We have apologies from Senator Ryan who is on maternity leave. We have a number of substitutions. Senator Scahill will be substituting for Senator Boyle. Senator Lynch will be substituting for Senator Byrne.

I remind members of the constitutional requirement that they must be physically present within the confines of the Leinster House complex in order to participate in meetings. I will not permit a member to participate when they are not adhering to this constitutional requirement. Therefore, any member who attempts to participate from outside the precinct will be asked to leave the meeting. In this regard, I ask any members partaking on Microsoft Teams that prior to making a contribution to the meeting, they confirm that they are on the grounds of the Leinster House complex.

The minutes from 23 and 24 June have been circulated. Are they agreed? Agreed.
